PEI Immigration Partnership

Overview

PEI's Provincial Immigration Partnership (PIP) is an Island-wide initiative funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). It aims to support the development of community-based partnerships that build welcoming communities.

The PIP team at IRSA facilitates collaboration and coordination among stakeholders interested in enhancing settlement and retention outcomes in Prince Edward Island. These stakeholders include provincial and municipal governments, businesses, organizations, community groups, and individuals.

PIP acknowledges PEI’s immigrant community, recognizing their courage and resiliency in overcoming the challenges of settling in a new country.

Activities

The PIP team collaborates closely with the Immigrant Advisory Table and the PIP Council to fulfill its vision and mission. This is achieved through a range of key activities, including:

  • Developing action plans aimed at closing service gaps, expanding available resources, fostering better collaboration among partners, and enhancing immigrants' success and well-being,
  • Forming and facilitating task-based working groups, focusing on specific, strategic initiatives,
  • Conducting research and sharing findings to inform decision-making and improve community outcomes,
  • Organizing events and activities designed to promote collaboration and strengthen community connections, and
  • Supporting partners' activities and initiatives, as well as other special projects that promote settlement and foster inclusion.

In addition to work within the province, the PEI network collaborates with local immigration partnerships elsewhere in Canada, through regional and national working groups and knowledge dissemination.
